Bluetooth heart rate and cycling sensor test

Choose a heart rate or cycling sensor below. You can connect one of each at the same time. For separate speed and cadence sensors, test each in turn.

Measure one complete wheel revolution. The initial 2105 mm is an example; replace it with your measurement for correct speed.

Supports BLE Heart Rate and Cycling Speed and Cadence (CSC) services. ANT+, proprietary protocols and FTMS-only trainers are not supported. Readings test communication, not medical accuracy.

MIDI messages and sensor readings stay in this browser and are not sent to analytics. No recording or account is required.

Bluetooth heart rate and cycling sensor test

Test compatible Bluetooth heart rate, cycling speed and cadence sensors. View live BPM, RPM, speed and connection status directly in your browser.

  1. Enable Bluetooth and wake the sensor: wear the strap or rotate the wheel or crank. Close apps that already use the sensor.
  2. Select Connect on the matching card and choose your sensor in the browser. Permission is requested only when you click.
  3. For speed, enter your measured wheel circumference. Move the wheel or pedals and check readings and their age; disconnect when finished.

01Which sensors are compatible?+

Bluetooth Low Energy sensors with the standard Heart Rate or Cycling Speed and Cadence (CSC) service. A Bluetooth logo alone is not sufficient. ANT+-only sensors, proprietary services and trainers exposing only FTMS are not read by this tool.

02Which browsers can connect?+

Web Bluetooth requires HTTPS and a supported browser and operating system. Start with Chrome on Android or Chrome/Edge on a supported desktop. Standard Safari and Firefox do not expose this API; standard iPhone/iPad browsers are not a supported target. The page checks API availability before connecting.

03Why is my sensor missing or unable to connect?+

Wake it, check its battery and enable Bluetooth. Wear the strap or rotate the crank. Disconnect it from training apps or bike computers that may occupy its connection. The picker only lists sensors advertising the requested standard service.

04How are speed and cadence calculated?+

CSC sensors report revolutions and event times. Cadence uses crank rotations; speed uses wheel rotations and the circumference you enter. A cadence-only sensor cannot provide speed. Two changed samples are needed; a dash means unavailable or stale data, not zero.

05Why do readings stop or show a contact warning?+

Some sensors send data only while moving or worn. Old values disappear after ten seconds without new measurements; unchanged revolution counters also expire. Contact status appears only when the strap reports it. Reconnect after a dropped connection or when returning to the tab.

06Is this a medical test, and are readings stored?+

This checks sensor communication and displays reported values; it does not diagnose health conditions or verify medical accuracy. Readings stay in this browser and are not sent to analytics. Disconnect, hide or leave the page to end connections.
